CAROL STREAM, IL – The ESDZ-1200, the new Egg Station with Dual Zone from Antunes, recently received a 2017 Kitchen Innovations (KI) Award from the National Restaurant Association. The awards honor forward-thinking equipment and technologies that increase efficiencies and productivity for back-of-the-house operations and benefit restaurant operators.
The ESDZ-1200 unit’s unique split cover divides the grill surface into two independent cooking zones, allowing operations to quickly prepare eggs on demand. Instead of cooking 12 eggs at once and then holding product — and pitching after the holding time has expired — they can now cook as little as one egg at a time with the same great tasting, quality results customers expect. Because of this ability to cook low-volume quantities to order, operators can anticipate lower food waste costs.
“The breakfast daypart continues to grow in popularity, but operators face challenges serving all-day breakfast including limited kitchen space and the risk of cross-contamination from cooking menu items for two different dayparts,” said Tony Vassos, director, product management & marketing for Antunes. “Our Egg Station alleviates these concerns and enables operators to easily serve freshly cooked eggs to customers throughout the day with a dedicated piece of equipment that increases operational efficiency.”
The KI Award will be presented at the 2017 National Restaurant Association Restaurant, Hotel-Motel Show in Chicago, held May 20-23. The ESDZ-1200 will be featured in both the Kitchen Innovation Pavilion and in the Antunes booth #4037.
