CAROL STREAM, ILLINOIS – Antunes, a family owned and operated company specializing in the manufacturing of foodservice equipment, has launched its GST-1H Flatbread Toaster.
The new Flatbread Toaster uses Antunes’ award-winning toasting technology to quickly heat pitas, flatbreads and tortillas or cook raw tortillas. With its continuously moving belts, operators can immediately feed in product on demand without causing any delays in service.
With a front load and front return, the GST-1H fits easily into any kitchen configuration. Additionally, the unit’s conveyor guides product along the two high-temperature platens and utilizes a digital control panel, allowing users to quickly adjust the temperature and motor speed to ensure products are properly heated. The integrated heated landing zone keeps product warm until they are ready to be served.
“Whereas other methods of heating flat breads have some variability, our new Flatbread Toaster delivers a consistent quality product each time to give operators the quick and efficient solution they need to serve their customers,” said Tony Vassos, director, product management & marketing for Antunes.
Accommodating products up to 16″ (41 cm) wide, the Flatbread Toaster can heat:
- pre-cooked flour or corn tortillas to 160°F (71°C) in approximately 6 seconds
- uncooked flat flour tortillas to 160°F (71°C) in approximately 12 seconds
- uncooked flat corn tortillas to 160°F (71°C) in approximately 24 seconds
- flatbreads to 160°F (71°C) in approximately 6 to 10 seconds
