You are here: Home / News / In Their Own Words: 2025 Antunes Summer Intern Reflections
July 31, 2025

This summer, Antunes brought in a group of 15 interns to spend time in a variety of departments, including engineering, marketing, supply chain, IT, and accounting. Throughout their time at Antunes, each intern has had the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, collaborate with various team members, and contribute to initiatives that align with Antunes’ values.

Zona Evans – Marketing Intern

Zona joined Antunes this summer to explore her passion for marketing and gain hands-on experience in a real-world business setting. Outside of marketing she was also inspired by Antunes’ commitment to sustainability and its people-first culture. “Antunes focuses a lot on putting team members first and works hard on their sustainability initiatives. You can tell they care a lot about their impact on the world.”

Throughout her time at Antunes, Zona has found value the collaborative work environment and opportunities to apply what she’s learned in the classroom to real marketing projects. “Everyone I’ve met has been extremely welcoming and open. Antunes fosters an environment where you’re encouraged to ask questions and share ideas.” She has enjoyed being able to learn from people with different perspectives and ideas, seeing how each role contributes to the Antunes mission.

Zona is looking forward to contributing to more projects that will have an impact and create value across a wide range of audiences. She is excited to continue developing her technical and creative skills, while collaborating with a variety of team members on a wide range of projects.

Diya Dhanani – Business Administration Intern

Diya’s connection to Antunes started while taking a high school entrepreneurship course, where she was mentored by Chief Executive Officer Glenn Bullock. Through that experience, Diya discovered Antunes, whose values matched her career aspirations.

“Before entering the workforce, I thought corporate environments would be uninviting and rigid, but from the moment I joined Antunes, I realized their culture was the complete opposite. Their core values surrounding people, passion, integrity, excellence, and family can be felt in every interaction. It is evident that the Antunes culture impacts its team members in a positive way.”

To Diya, one of the most meaningful parts of the internship thus far is learning about the history of Antunes, because it allowed her to understand how the company’s values were shaped and how the culture continues to positively impact the work environment and mission today.

During her time at Antunes, Diya hopes to learn how to run a productive business while fostering a workplace where everyone feels fulfilled and supported. “Antunes serves as an excellent model of the kind of company I hope to own one day.”

Robert Szocinski – Mechanical Engineering Intern (Innovation)

Robert chose Antunes for the opportunity to grow in a hands-on, fast-paced environment, seeing the company as the ideal place to expand his technical knowledge and gain both professional experience and practical skills beyond the classroom.

“Every day I come in I have a new task and work with different departments and different team members who have decades of experience in their field. Despite this, they are open to working with me collaboratively and patiently. The projects I have been working on have been honed towards education, which allows me to learn while also putting me in a position to be successful.”

Working with the innovation team, Robert feels challenged to think in ways he never has before. Upon the start of his time at Antunes, he was immediately able to delve into real-world applications. What stands out most to him is the culture of equal and open discussion and learning. “As soon as I started, I became an integral part of the team. None of the work I am doing goes to waste.”

Robert is thankful that every day he learns something new, meets someone new, and has the opportunity to get a taste of every department at Antunes.

Jenna Mareachen – Sales & Engineering Intern

Jenna is returning to Antunes to intern for a second summer. “I came back to Antunes because I really enjoy the work environment. The company really takes to heart their values, and even as an intern I felt like I was a part of the family.” While at Antunes, Jenna has gained real world exposure, allowing her to gain practical skills which have helped her decided that she wants to major in engineering.

“The Antunes culture fosters a supportive environment where you can sense genuine care in every interaction and every team member is clearly valued. It allows you to really utilize your strengths and develop as a person. It’s a workplace where I feel appreciated and inspired to further my education.”

Last summer, Jenna completed a manufacturing rotation internship, where she was able to develop her skills in project management and gain manufacturing experience, which led to her decision in pursuing a career in engineering.

This summer, Jenna is excited to use her apply the knowledge gained in her STEM classes to her engineering projects. She’s looking forward to collaborating with different teams, learning about the intersection of sales and engineering, and continuing to strengthen her technical abilities.

Kosha Patel – Mechanical Engineering Intern

Kosha is returning to Antunes for a second summer of mechanical engineering. “I chose to come back to Antunes because of the incredible mentorship and the range of opportunities for learning and growth. My previous internship here greatly enhanced my education and the hands-on experience was extremely valuable.”

Kosha views the Antunes culture as collaborative, inclusive, and innovation driven. “Team members genuinely value mutual support and continuous improvement, making it easy to ask questions, share ideas, and contribute meaningfully.”

During her previous internship at Antunes, Kosha worked on a design for an organizational table for use on the assembly floor. “At the time, I was involved in the design and planning stages, but I didn’t get to see the final product before the end of my internship. When I returned, it was incredibly rewarding to see the table fully fabricated and actively being used by the team. Seeing something I contributed to being implemented was proud moment.”

During her time at Antunes this summer, Kosha is looking to strengthen her problem-solving abilities, improve her understanding of product development processes, and contribute to projects that make a tangible difference. She is looking forward to growing professionally in an environment that values learning and innovation.

One of the things Landon has found value in is the company’s people-first culture. “While at Antunes, you can feel empowered to grow and make a difference. There’s a genuine sense that your voice matters and your contributions are valued. There’s a real sense that everyone is part of a unified team.”

Landon is looking forward to doing electrical engineering in a real-world application and applying what he’s learning in the classroom to the projects he is working on.

Dhruv Patel – Accounting & Information Technology Intern

Dhruv discovered Antunes through his high school accounting class, where they took a field trip to tour the Carol Stream facility. People support one another and celebrate successes together.” Aadi is looking forward to continuous skill building, developing on what he learned previously, and gaining experience that he can use for the rest of his career. “I feel lucky to be part of a company that cares about its people and helps them succeed, no matter where they are in their journey.”

Krishna Patel – Manufacturing Rotation Internship

Krishna is completing a manufacturing rotation internship this summer, having interests in both engineering and finance. The rotation has allowed him to explore different areas of Antunes, giving him a broader understanding of how different departments work together. Throughout his time at Antunes, Krishna has enjoyed the opportunity to contribute to various technical projects, gaining hands-on experience and refining his engineering skillset. “Interning at Antunes has made me more responsible and detail oriented.
