As we announced in October 2016, we are expanding the manufacturing facility at our headquarters in Carol Stream, IL — adding approximately 55,000 square feet to increase our capabilities.
The additional space will accommodate several advancements to Antunes’ operation, resulting in 40 percent more manufacturing capacity while utilizing 10 percent less assembly area.
The enhancements include doubling the size of the engineering lab and sheet metal fabrication area, as well as constructing a state-of-the-art water treatment lab. Two new docks are also being added to the shipping and receiving area, bringing the total to eight.
Additionally, the facility updates include environmentally conscious features such as 30,000 square feet of solar panels, electric car charging stations and permeable pavement in the parking lot to reduce water runoff and control pollutants entering the environment.
Antunes is also building a medical clinic that will have a doctor and nurse on site and a wellness center with instructors to create personalized health plans for team members.
As we eagerly anticipate the completion of the expansion by Thanksgiving of this year, here’s a look back at the progress so far.
