CAROL STREAM, IL – Antunes, a family owned and operated company specializing in the manufacturing of foodservice equipment, partnered with A&W Food Services of Canada, Inc. (A&W Canada) on a chain wide roll-out of its Egg Stations to approximately 550 restaurant locations.
The roll-out coincided with the leading Canadian fast food chain’s launch of its all-day breakfast program — the first in Canada.
“Some of our restaurants were already using the Antunes Egg Station, and we saw an opportunity to expand the use of this piece of equipment to increase efficiencies across the chain — which was especially important as we were preparing for our historic all-day breakfast launch,” said Tyler Pronyk, director of distribution, equipment and packaging for A&W Canada.
An alternative to grill cooking and with a small footprint to easily fit into any operation, Antunes’ Egg Stations offer a reliable way to quickly cook eggs to order using steam and heat.
“The Antunes Egg Station gives us menu consistency, meaning eggs will be cooked the same way, in the same amount of time from store to store, and that’s the type of reliable guest experience that we strive for,” said Jean O’Connor, manager of equipment services for A&W Canada.
Antunes modified the standard egg ring size to 3.75 inches in diameter to meet A&W Canada’s needs, and the Egg Stations are now used to cook fresh eggs for all of the chain’s breakfast sandwiches.
