In October 2016, we began an expansion project at our headquarters in Carol Stream, IL, to add approximately 55,000 square feet to our manufacturing facility, which will increase our capacity by 40 percent.
Our team has a number of improvements to look forward to as part of this expansion. Facility improvements include a larger engineering lab and sheet metal fabrication area and a new state-of-the-art water treatment lab.
Environmentally conscious improvements are also underway; we will be adding 30,000 square feet of solar panels, electric car charging stations and permeable pavement in the parking lot.
Finally, Antunes is also promoting a healthier work environment with the construction of a medical clinic that will house on-site personnel, as well as a wellness center with instructors to create tailored health plans for team members.
Our last update marked the progress from October 2016 until April of this year and here’s a look at the work since then.
May – June 2017
Construction work for our expansion moved to the loading dock, where contractors prepped and poured concrete for the two new docks in the shipping and receiving area, bringing the total to eight.
July – August 2017
Paving was completed for the entire parking lot south of our current dock. Additionally, permeable pavement was added to the visitor parking lot, which will decrease the amount of water runoff and control pollutants entering the environment.
This doorway will connect the current manufacturing area to the newly added facility.
Progress continues to be made on the construction and outfit of the interior of the new facility.
