CAROL STREAM, IL – Antunes, a family owned and operated company specializing in the manufacturing of foodservice equipment, was named the 2017 Illinois Family Business of the Year in the large company category by the Family Business Center at Loyola University Chicago’s Quinlan School of Business.
The Illinois Family Business of the Year Awards recognize companies headquartered in Illinois with a strong commitment to both business and family.
“We are deeply honored to be recognized with this award, building on the legacy started by August J. Antunes more than 60 years ago,” said Antunes CEO Glenn Bullock. “All of our team members are an extension of the Antunes family, and we pride ourselves on having a culture where everyone is working together toward a common goal: making our customers successful.”
Award applications are reviewed by a panel of judges comprised of previous award winners, corporate representatives and Loyola faculty. In addition to business success, those recognized have demonstrated positive family/business linkage, multi-generational family business involvement, contributions to industry and community, and innovative business practices and strategies.
“This recognition represents a milestone for our family and for the company,” said Jane Antunes Bullock, vice president of administration with Antunes. “What started as a small Chicago-based manufacturers’ representative business has grown into a successful business with more than 300 employees working to provide equipment for operations in more than 150 countries — all while keeping family at the heart of what we do.”
The winners were announced at the Illinois Family Business of the Year Awards gala, held November 16 in Chicago. To see all of the 2017 award winners, visit https://www.luc.edu/quinlan/stories/archive/illinois-family-business-award-winners-2017.shtml.
